The Supreme Court of India has refused to hear a petition seeking to cancel the India-Pakistan cricket match scheduled on September 14 in Dubai.
The bench, led by Justices J.K. Maheshwari and Vijay Vishnoi, stated that it is “just a cricket match” and should be allowed to take place. The petition cited past security concerns, including the April terrorist attack in Pulwama, which resulted in 26 deaths and subsequent military tensions between the two countries. Despite the petition, the BCCI has confirmed that the match will proceed as part of the multinational tournament, although bilateral matches between India and Pakistan remain prohibited. India and Pakistan are in Group-A of the Asia Cup, with potential clashes on September 21 and 28.
